Regular visits by Steve Osbourne. Steve trained in America and Canada and
has been practicing equine dentistry since 1997.
Dental care is very important for maintaining your horse's
performance and well-being.
Horses need to chew their food properly for good digestion
and any dental problems that make the mouth sensitive will
impede normal chewing action which will affect digestion.
Poor digestion can lead to problems such as weight loss and colic.
Dental pain also affects responsiveness to the pressure of the bit,
causing problems with training and performance.
A dental check up is recommended once every 6 months for young
horses and annually for older horses.
